Mint Trail Development

The contract for the construction of the Mint Trail Segment 1 has been awarded to Richard E. Pierson Construction Co., Inc. of Pilesgrove, New Jersey. The Notice to Proceed is being issued and the tentative start date for mobilization to the site is January 10, 2024, the start date is weather-dependent. The construction timeline has noted the completion date as on or around July 5, 2024 and the Township will keep you apprised with any updates or changes to the schedule.

Background Information

In 2018, Middletown Township established a Transit Revitalization Investment District
(TRID) to stimulate desired TOD development that would be adjacent to the future Wawa Train Station. The Township adopted a Project Plan to implement this TRID District and received grant funding from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to further enhance the
benefits of this TRID District. Trail development is the main enhancement the Township is undertaking, with the Mint Trail Development, Segment No. 1, as the first stage.
